Pattern imprinted concrete provides water-tight flooring and can be
used internally or externally. However, when laid in exposed areas
outdoors it may be necessary to put in drainage channels to avoid
the build up of water on the surface of the concrete. Such a build
up of water wouldn't have any negative effect on the concrete but
could be unsafe and unsightly.
The example on the left is of the Deck-o-drain system, whereby
drainage channels are placed in the concrete to allow water to drain
through and away easily. These drainage channels provide an effective
drainage system and are especially useful if pattern imprinted
concrete is used around swimming pools.
On the right is an example of a drainage channel in use at the
Barton Grange garden centre. (Bottom right of the picture.)
